HYG is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the Maintenance team. As a Maintenance Repairperson , you will have the opportunity to maintain and repair plant facilities and equipment to support production, maintain a preventative maintenance program, and keep accurate maintenance records. Continuous improvement to remain proactive instead of a reactive maintenance program. Candidates identified for these opportunities will be expected to work safely, perform quality work, be available to work either shift, flexible in the acceptance of work assignments, available to work overtime as required, perform their work in a proficient and efficient manner, maintain their work area and participate in developmental programs as identified by the company.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Maintain production standards by making repairs to equipment which would include torch cutting, welding, brazing, and soldering

  • Perform a normal range of electrical repairs and installations such as replace contacts, fuses, switches, motors, defective or broken wires and power circuits. Repair small tools, fans and other electrical equipment

  • Maintain and repair plant and office building including floors, walls, ceilings, roofs, windows, pipe air lines, hot and cold water lines, and hydraulic lines

  • Diagnose, disassemble, repair or replace components and equipment

  • Support continuous process of the production of lift trucks

  • Maintain paint systems throughout the facility by repair and preventative maintenance

  • Perform preventative maintenance as outlined on preventative maintenance schedules of equipment manufacturer’s recommendations

  • Comply with all safety standards and regulations

  • Maintain building, equipment, and grounds in a clean and orderly manner

  • Must be able to manage time in such a way as to maintain an acceptable level of attendance

  • Exhibit willingness to participate in training deemed necessary by management to assist in the development of basic and technical skills

Minimum qualifications:

  • A minimum of six months related experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • A High School diploma and continuing education in related fields

  • Ability to read and make decisions from drawings, specifications, instructions, manuals, and written and verbal instructions

  • Must be proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical, hydraulics, electronic, mechanical and plumbing systems. Certifications or other formal training in each of these areas is required.

  • Knowledge of general maintenance and repair

  • Safety knowledge in a manufacturing environment

  • Effective communication skills; both oral and written

  • A National Career Readiness Certification is preferred.
