What you will do:

  • Design/test components. Create product design documentation – such as CAE (computer aided engineering), 3-d models, detail drawings, engineering lists, reports, test plans and software coding – to support release of Change Orders describing component design revisions.

  • Translate truck-level and system-level requirements to component design / test requirements.

  • Support/execute development testing to ensure design robustness to requirements.

  • Interface with component suppliers and internal customers (Platform, Manufacturing, Marketing, Service, etc.) to understand detailed product requirements.

  • Concept development for system design.

  • The incumbent must be a strong effective communicator, with diverse groups of people throughout Hyster-Yale’s Global operations, and must have good organizational skills with regard to work priorities.

  • Integrate input into design

  • Facilitate plant support for pilot and product activities

  • One who engages cross functionally to develop product supporting the most efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to individuals and project teams to ensure project deliverables are met.

  • One who Designs, develops and evaluates components, assemblies and vehicle systems which satisfy the customer’s needs for vehicle performance, durability, and reliability.

What you will need:

  • B.S. degree in Software, Computer, or Electrical Engineering

  • One - two years engineering experience and/or 2 internships (e.g., MECOP)

Key Skills, Experience & Abilities:

  • Highly self-motivated individual with the ability, interpersonal and facilitation skills to work across functional team boundaries

  • Basic specialized knowledge/skill in drawing practices, CAD, engineering analysis, design layouts.

  • Basic knowledge/skill in vehicle/automotive technology, manufacturing technology, design/test experience, test practices and procedures.

  • Proficient demonstration of the core competencies for this position as defined in the Hyster-Yale Competency Dictionary.

  • Matlab/Simulink

  • Electrical Circuits

Nice to have:

  • Linux

  • Docker

  • SICK Flexi Soft / Safety Designer

  • Fluency in any additional programming languages

  • Machine learning
