Engineer II-IV – Global Modeling and Simulation – Multibody Dynamics

HYG is looking for an energetic individual to join our multibody dynamics team. As a member of the Global Modeling and Simulation team you will work with a dynamic cross-functional team of subject matter experts. This position will impact nearly every aspect of the HYG product line at each stage from early concept development, through to final physical validation. The candidate’s primary responsibility will be developing and evaluating Multi-Body Dynamic simulations to support product development and concept evaluation for the functional design teams in the areas of durability, functional operation, and stability. The ideal candidate is interested in pursuing a technically focused career path in advanced simulation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adapt parametric Multibody Dynamics simulations to accurately model system and component behavior to support structural load definition, component and system durability, and stability assessment.

  • Develop and apply pre-processing and post-processing procedures and software tools for MBD simulations.

  • Create clear and concise documentation of work through analysis reports and standard work instructions.

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of engineering software tools such as ANSYS, Siemens SimCenter 3d Motion, and nCode.

  • Develop and apply a knowledge base in fundamental mechanics concepts such as Newton’s Laws, Mohr’s Circle, and Hooke’s Law to practical scenarios.

Minimum Qualifications:

Level commensurate of qualification

  • Level commensurate of qualification and experience.

  • Formal education with a minimum B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, M.S. preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated interest and ability in scripting/coding in MATLAB, Python, or Visual Basic highly desirable.

  • Course work focus and interest in structural mechanics and dynamics highly desirable (Stress Analysis, Strength of Materials, Dynamics, Mechanical Vibrations, Fracture and Fatigue).

  • Exposure to and interest in industrial equipment (e.g. forklifts, agriculture, trucks) is desirable.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and perform routine self-checks to identify errors.
